Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville has said Manchester United are still playing poorly as a team. It’s completely different from teams like Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool.
Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville has said the Red Devils are now lacking in good team play. After their recent defeat by Aston Villa 0-1 Karang Old Trafford in the English Premier League game on Saturday 25 September ago.
This season, many people see United have a higher chance of winning the title than before, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Varane and Jadon Sancho joining the squad. But they were shockingly defeated by Villa when it was only their sixth league game of the season. And so far, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team has not met with a team in the big 6 groups together.
Neville, the elder, said on his podcast: “Actually, I said from the moment they won. I said that from the moment Ronaldo scored. In my view they are not playing well as a team to win the league. They are not playing well as a team.”
“I think you have to play well as a team both when you’re on the ball and when you’re not. If you only play well at one stroke, Sometimes you just might not find the right timing in some games. You must have a good way of playing. You have to have the right playing style. But up until now, I’ve only seen individual performances from them.”
“It’s true that there are sometimes good-looking layouts in the game. and have some coordination But they are still a team full of new players with Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Varane and Jadon Sancho in the squad. The same as a team and can begin to define a clear playing style. If you can do that then you will have a satisfying result even if the day is not very good.”
